“I began my own practice to help my oldest son, who has autism, develop better body awareness and improve his gross motor skills and to help my wife as she dealt with a herniated L1-S5 disc. As I studied, I quickly realized that the physical postures were merely a very small part of something much larger. I recognized that Yoga is much more than just exercise. Yoga is a means to re-unite body and mind and that unification provides a powerful means of gaining freedom from the habits and history of our own lives.
“Physically, I have benefitted from Yoga as it has freed me from near constant sciatica and back pain. I've lost 20 pounds, lowered my blood pressure and greatly improved my muscle tone and strength. No doubt, these are some very powerful reasons for me to maintain my practice and to want to share what I have received but these are not the reasons I practice nor are they the reasons that I teach.
“Yoga has had a dramatic impact upon me emotionally and spiritually. Through my practice, I have developed the capacity to accept things as they are, to find peace in each moment, to be content in a world of turmoil. Each of us has this capacity within us and it is my intent and purpose to help my students unlock this capacity and experience this freedom for themselves.” ~Tyran
